Art Therapy & Sand Therapy

Art therapy encompasses all forms of creativity and is a non-invasive therapy offering mindfulness and an emotional regulation strategy. This form of therapy is also used to enhance a participant’s fine motor skills.

Sand play therapy is another non-invasive approach, supporting participants to construct their own microcosm that reflect their inner thoughts.

For participants with a disability, art and sand play therapy offers opportunities of self-reflection, self-expression, and self-acceptance.

In delivering these services, our qualified staff provide participants with a disability a supportive and accepting environment where these expressive therapies aim to:

  • Increase a sense of safety
  • Encourage creativity & mindfulness
  • Assisting in regulating emotions
  • Increase fine motor skills
  • Support self-reflection and self-expression
  • Support participants without verbal intervention
