Counselling

Our counselling service is designed for participants with an intellectual disability experiencing any of the following:

- Changes in behaviour
- Lack of confidence
- Lack of interest in daily activities
- Avoidance of people and/or events
- Ability to communicate
- Decision-making
- Feelings of guilt or worthlessness
- Restlessness or irritability
- Experiencing flashbacks or
  reliving traumatic experiences

Art Therapy & Sand Therapy

In delivering these services, our qualified staff provide participants with a supportive and accepting environment where these expressive therapies aim to:

- Increase a sense of safety
- Encourage creativity & mindfulness
- Assist regulating emotions
- Increase fine motor skills
- Support self-reflection and self-expression
- Support participants without
 verbal intervention

Dietitian & Nutritionist

Tailored to the participant’s circumstances, we provide evidence-based nutrition education and advice to support the participant to:

- Plan and prepare nutritious
 meals independently
- Develop budgeting skills
- Conduct weekly grocery shopping
- Overcome resistance to certain food groups
- Increase confidence when introducing
 new foods
- Improve relationships with foods
 including disordered eating
- Enjoy safe mealtimes when
 experiencing difficulties with appetite,
 chewing and/or swallowing
